Fuel price increase

The average price for a litre of unleaded reached 135.13p last month (up 3.4p from the previous month) as global demand for oil increases as countries and economies emerge from lockdown.

For a 55-litre vehicle, filling up could now cost you £11 more than it did a year ago, according to the RAC, who also warned that drivers could continue to face these price rises this summer, pushing up the costs for those regularly on the road.

Diesel prices also rose last month, increasing by 2.7p to 137.06p per litre, the highest since 2014.
