It’s estimated that 5.5million vehicles had their MOT extended last year due to the pandemic, which means they’ll now be due from September this year, creating more demand at the garages.
Added to this, there will be an additional 300,000 new cars that will now be due to have their first MOT. So there’s likely to be a backlog of vehicles needing an MOT.
If you were one of the 5.5million that deferred your MOT last year, make sure you get yours booked in as soon as possible with your local garage. Those that fail to get their vehicle MOT’d risk a £1,000 fine.
