Keeping active during lockdown 3

It’s the start of a New Year and as we start lockdown 3, gyms and fitness centres have had to close. If you’re thinking that post-Christmas, you wanted to get back on or kick-start your exercise regime – don’t worry, we’ve got a list of online options for you to check out.

PE with Joe Wicks

Designed for the kids, but following the first lockdown, even the parents found this one a good work out session. Joe is back from 11 January and will be doing three sessions a week at 9am on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. What a hero! You’ll be able to catch him on his YouTube channel online from any smart TV, laptop, Ipad or even smartphone.

Davina: Own Your Goals

You can sign up for a month’s free trial (and cancel anytime as there’s no contract). With online classes from HITT, Boxing, dance and much more, there’s bound to be something to suit most people. Check out the plans here.

Gym Shark app

The Gym Shark training app is now completely free (they’ve done away with their Premium version to ensure the app is as accessible as possible) allowing people to focus on their training at home. Choose from athlete workouts, home gym workouts or create your own. You can even track your progress. And check out their GYMSHARK66 programme running until March, to kick-start those long term healthy habits.

Les Mills On Demand

If you’re a new customer, you can get access to a free 30 day trial (and cancel anytime). There are over 1,000 workouts to choose from, 13 programmes and workouts range from 15 to 55 minutes. So whether you’re working from home and only have time for a quick 15 minute workout, or have a bit more time in the evenings, check out this link for more info.

Yoga with Adriene

This will be Adriene’s 7th year of doing a 30 day free yoga journey at the start of the year. Whilst it started on 2 January, it’s not too late to get involved – you’ll benefit from the whole programme as Adriene is keeping this on her YouTube channel for you to enjoy. Simply sign up and get started (no payment is taken, and there’s no ‘free trial’ that you need to cancel).

Of course, there’s a whole host of fitness guru’s, PT’s and Gyms that will be streaming their content on their YouTube Channels now that we’re in another lockdown. Plus, if you’re already with a gym, see what they’re doing to support their clients whilst gyms are shut. Here’s a few we’ve found that are doing exactly that – simply click on the links below to find out more or follow.
