Jody Scheckter’s Formula One Wolf to take pride of place in show
Motoring enthusiasts visiting this year’s Camberley Classic Car Show on 30th August
can revel in a racing classic, the Wolf Formula One car, as driven by racing legend
Jody Scheckter in the 1970’s. This classic of the F1 world will take pride of place
outside local insurance broker A-Plan’s branch on Camberley High Street – one of
the streets closed on the day for the procession to display. A-Plan has secured the
vehicle as part of its support of the event which will raise funds for the South West
Thames Kidney Fund.
Once considered to be the world’s most dangerous racing driver, Jody Scheckter
was the last driver to win the world championship for Ferrari in 1979 until Michael
Schumacher succeeded for the team 21 years later. Now retired from racing,
Scheckter is a well known farmer and collector of classic racing cars, most of which
he himself raced in.
Andy Taylor, branch manager of A-Plan Camberley said, “The Camberley Classic
Car show is one of the highlights of the summer and raises a lot of money for a well
deserving local charity, the South West Thames Kidney Fund. We are real
supporters of the show and love to be as involved as possible. This year we are
thrilled to be able to give visitors a real treat with Jody Scheckter’s legendary car.”
In addition, visitors to the branch will have the opportunity to win a £100 shopping
voucher (which can be used in outlets in Camberley Mall) in A-Plan’s ‘Stars and their
Cars’ competition, which is currently running in the branch.
Andy Taylor commented. “On the day of the show visitors can come along to the
branch where there will be a competition with a great prize, fun activities and treats
as well as the opportunity to have a photo taken next to this classic of Formula One.”
